Shared Joy is Twice the Joy, Shared Pain is Half the Pain

Boots in Prague

So guys. I don’t know if this is a thing in other parts of the world, maybe it makes a lot of sense to anyone who grew up in snow country. But people (read: women) in Prague wear different shoes in work than they do on their way. As in, they wear boots in the trams and while walking around, and carry their working shoes with them. Then, once they show up to work, they change into the flats, heels, whatever that they brought with them in their bag. On their way home, they switch back. AND, they get funny looks when they forget to change their shoes on the way home. (I know this because it happened to Anna yesterday.) All this happens even when its only a bit chilly and not even precipitating.

Please, someone explain this to me.
